History
The first organizational meeting of CMFSCI was held in October of 2001. A group of hunters, sportsmen and women, as well as outdoor enthusiast wanted to make a difference in their respective communities. The foundation is made up entirely of volunteers, who donate their time and resources to assist others. The primary objectives were to provide charitable services to the less fortunate and educate the public on hunting and conservation.
The foundation decided to spearhead the safari wish and share the harvest programs, as well as provide hunter safety courses. We have been able to fulfill the wishes of seven kids, by taking them hunting and fishing. The foundation has the event professionally video-taped and provides the taxidermy work for each kids trophy.
Central Missouri deer hunters donated 26,550 pounds of venison for charities participating in the Sportsmen Against Hunger/ Share the Harvest Program sponsored by the Central Missouri Chapter of Safari Club International (SCI) in 2007.
“This was a record amount of venison donations for the program sponsored each year by our organization and we appreciate the deer hunters support and the opportunity to team up with other partners on this fine program that serves the needy,”
says Bill Moore, president of the Central Missouri Chapter of SCI.
Our growth continues in leaps & bounds with well over 200 members at present. As we progress, conservation, education & humanitarian services will be the benefactors of the funds we raise!
