Central Missouri Chapter of SCI
Sportsmen Against Hunger/Share of Harvest
Status Report
November 26, 2008
The Chapter's Sportsmen
Against Hunger/Share the Harvest program is seeing lots of venison donations in 2008. Earl Cannon, coordinator of our program,
reports that as of November 26, 2008 nearly 22,000 pounds of venison has been donated at the seven processing plants participating
in our program. Hunters have thus far donated 394 whole deer and this compares to 479 whole deer and 26,550 pounds donated for
all of 2007.
The Conservation Federation of Missouri and the Central Missouri Chapter of SCI have been paying the processing
cost for whole deer donations. Our chapter appreciates the efforts this year by the deer hunters, meat processors, charities,
Missouri Department of Conservation, Conservation Federation of Missouri, Safari Club International Foundation, news media, chapter
members and all others who are assisting in making the program so successful.
